Hampsfell House Hotel

Welcome

Picture of the front of the hotelHampsfell House was built around 1800 for a Lancashire mill Owner and has had a variety of names during the last 206 years. It's name changed from sandyfield house to Hampsfell House in 1986, but previous to that it was named Handyfield House. Hampsfell became a hotel just after the second world war, and has since become a very popular place to visit by both residential guests and diners alike.

Picture of the hotel gardensThere are nearly two acres of well stocked gardens, woodlands and fields around the Hotel that you are welcome to explore, and it's just a short five minute walk (or two minute) drive down into town where you will find some of the finest gardens in the local area, along with a whole variety of small shops at your disposal.

Picture of morecambe bayMany of our guests visit purely to walk up Hampsfell itself due to the breathtaking views it offers. On a clear day, you can see for miles across Morcambe bay, to Lancaster and Morcambe and the busy port of Heysham. Once on the top of the fell you can rest a while in the Hospice and read the fabulous poems left By Edwardian and Victorian visitors inside the Hospice.
